Fosway’s ongoing research provides insights into the changing landscape of HR and learning, including the factors that are disrupting corporate learning systems and the vendors that are helping reshape the learning ecosystem.

April 2024: Fosway Group, Europe’s #1 HR Industry analyst, is about to publish its latest Disruptive Insights paper. Following on from the recent publication of papers covering ‘Collaborative Learning’, and ‘Programmatic Learning’, the subject in the analysts’ sights this time is ‘Large Enterprise Learning Systems’. The paper is co-authored by Fiona Leteney and David Wilson.

After 10 months of interviews, countless drafts and a resulting paper clocking in at 8,000+ words, Fosway Group has produced one of the definitive analyses of this segment of the learning market.

The Learning Systems market has evolved a lot over the last 25+ years, and Fosway has tracked this market from the beginning, always maintaining a very deep focus on the customer needs and outcomes, as well as the vendors that evolved to serve them. One segment that has existed across this whole period is large enterprises. Whilst learning systems is now a mass market that serves almost every segment, large enterprises are still a big part of the market – arguably one of the largest segments by value too.

Fosway’s reclassification of the Learning Systems market in 2020 started an ongoing research programme into the forces that are disrupting the learning technology ecosystem. Following more than two decades of deep research across HR, learning and talent, Fosway is publishing a new series of papers that explore the scope of these disruptive forces, why they are important, and what a corporate buyer needs to know about the associated vendor landscape.

Fosway’s Disruptive Insights research involves a multi-year research programme, including in-depth roundtable discussions with corporate learning professionals, building new functional models for specialisms, and detailed research with the vendors. The resulting models were also integrated into Fosway’s ongoing 9-Grid™ research and Digital Learning Realities research programmes.

“We are delighted to launch this latest paper in our series of Disruptive Insights papers for learning, said David Wilson, CEO Fosway Group. “Our focus on specific areas of the modern learning market aims to help corporate buyers understand the rapidly evolving learning technology ecosystem.

“Vendors are innovating their products rapidly and new entrants to the market are introducing technologies that are laser focused on specific business challenges and learning use cases. The challenge for corporate learning professionals is to understand which technologies align with their organisational aims and priorities, and how to deliver the impact they are looking for.”

Over the coming weeks and months, Fosway will be publishing more Disruptive Insights Papers across learning, HR and talent acquisition.

Launch day is 14 May – you can view the paper here.
