How the future of work is redefining the role of tomorrow’s leader
Being a manager has never been more challenging. The world is changing fast and what it means to be a leader is shifting fast too. Managers are grappling with big challenges, from the always on digital culture, to flexing to the needs of multi-generational, identity diverse teams.
The scale and speed of change make it harder than ever to succeed as a leader. So how are organisations reinventing themselves? And how is people intelligence helping the managers of tomorrow drive the right behaviours and release the potential of their teams?
Pourquoi est-ce important ?
We are in the throes of numerous existential crises. The latest IPPC report calls for us all to reduce our CO2 emissions by 2023 or risk missing the disaster of more than 2C of global warming by the middle of the century. But even in the last year emissions rose by 16%. Economically, things are going to get much tougher. Financial analysis at Morgan Stanley signals a growing likelihood of recession. In most econometric models, the probability of recession has now risen from 30% to around 60%.
Add to that the fall-out of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine – and spiralling energy costs and stagflation – and it certainly feels like the most VUCA of VUCA worlds. And it is managers who are at the sharp end of making the changes happen that will guide their teams through change to support business success.
