Fosway’s ongoing Digital Learning Realities research, now in its seventh year, explores the digital learning landscape. This year’s research, carried out in partnership with the Learning Technologies Conference, looks at the digital learning strategies that are helping organisations successfully support new working environments and organisational transformation.

Nearly 400 senior learning professionals from enterprise organisations across Europe were surveyed between January and May 2022. They provide their insights on how digital is driving the corporate learning agenda following the COVID-19 pandemic. The research reveals:

• Areas of focus for digital learning in 2022

• The effectiveness of learning technologies

• The innovation driving digital learning

• Priorities for improvement

Digital learning was massively accelerated by the pandemic and as a result we see a buoyant digital learning market. However, as the dust settles on moving to – and accelerating – digital learning, organisations must turn their attention to big challenges, including supporting hybrid working and the skills agenda, that will need an effective digital strategy. This year’s Digital Learning Realities research shines a light on those digital strategies that are working for corporate learning teams.

The digital learning market is buoyant, driven by buyer demand. However, this demand is heavily skewed towards content and beyond content the research reveals that most learning teams are a long way off being able to deploy a very effective learning strategy. At the same time, L&D teams are under pressure to show their value-add to stakeholders as well as improve the overall learning experience.
